Scholarship in AI

Our faculty are exploring AI from many angles ranging from the ethics of AI, and developing their own AI-driven language instructional systems to integrating AI systems to more efficiently gather data sets. The faculty below are currently researching AI or using AI tools in their research.

Research Tool Consultation

ITS collaborates with faculty to develop specialized AI research tools. Recent examples include:

  • SealNet: An AI-assisted facial recognition tool for tracking wild seal populations, created with Krista Ingram, Biology
  • DeepBryo AI: Automated segmentation for earth and environmental sciences imagery, created with Paul Harnik, Earth and Environmental Geosciences.
